Associated Engineering has provided consulting engineering services for over 60 years. With over 850 staff, we specialize in the water, transportation, infrastructure, and environmental sectors. Our engineering services range from planning and feasibility studies to detailed design, construction, training, and operational assistance. We have participated in world-class projects in Canada and around the world, for both public and private sector clients. Carbon Neutral Program

Associated Engineering is a carbon neutral company. Associated Engineering's investment in carbon offsets from Mauritius-based Envirotrade supports reforestation and sustainable agricultural initiatives in the rural communities of Mozambique. Through Envirotrade, we are helping communities and families by giving, reviving, and/or generating local agriculture and forestry industries, thus providing incomes and food supply for locals.

We selected Envirotrade because they work in conjunction with the University of Edinburgh and the European Commission, and are a credible vendor. They work with Plan Vivo, who provide third party verification. The reforestation project has been validated by the Rainforest Alliance at the Gold level for Climate, Community, and Biodiversity; it is the only project in the world to have achieved this standard.

Our investment in carbon offsets from Envirotrade is in addition to our in-house initiatives to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions, including use of video conferencing to reduce travel, office waste reduction and recycling, office energy reduction, and local purchasing practices. We will continue to put aside funds for investment in carbon offset and continue to evaluate local carbon offset programs, so that we can use our carbon offset fund to invest in greenhouse gas reduction in the communities where we live and work.
