Seasons Greetings

Merry Christmas from Kerry Rudd (front right) and staff at Associated Engineering (Calgary office)

2005 has been a very exciting year for Associated Engineering. We have been successful on many new projects, and have experienced unprecedented growth in all our sectors: water, transportation, infrastructure, and environmental. We have also received recognition for engineering excellence and innovation, most recently, the Canadian Consulting Engineering Award of Excellence for the Sea to Sky Highway Test Section. Congratulations to all our staff!

On a personal note, 2005 has brought new challenges to me, as I take on the role of President of the Associated Engineering group of companies. I thank Alistair Black, our Chairman and CEO, and our Board of Directors for entrusting me with this role. As I look back on our history - our successes, our growth, and the hallmark of strong corporate governance established by our past presidents - I am extremely honoured to be able to carry on in their footsteps.

Over the past few months, it has been a real pleasure for me to be able to travel to our offices across Canada and to meet staff and clients. As I talk to our staff and tour our operations, I see how busy we are in all our offices. I am impressed by our staff’s enthusiasm, energy, and dedication to our clients and the projects we undertake. I am also impressed by their efforts and commitment to improve our workplace environment and to make their communities better places to live in. To our staff, thank you. You are the reason for our continued success.

I also want to take this opportunity to thank our clients. Thank you for your continued support by giving us the opportunity to provide service to you and to do what we do best: engineer infrastructure that supports safe, healthy, and prosperous communities. To our clients, staff, and the extended Associated Engineering family, my best wishes to you for this holiday season and for peace and prosperity in the new year.

Kerry Rudd,
P.Eng. President
