Staff compete for trophies and bragging rights at AE Olympics

Staff from across the company enjoy the
events and festivities of the AE Olympics
|
Every two years, staff from across the company travel to Kelowna for AE's version of the Olympics. This year, over 140 people participated in soccer, golf, hockey, and, of course, wine tours over three days of tournament play.
The Burnaby soccer team, with additions from Kelowna and Saskatoon, took home the trophy in the soccer tournament.
The team from the Calgary office won the coveted Ken Yetman Memorial Golf Tournament trophy, accumulating the best aggregate score. The golf tournament is named in honour of Associated Engineering employee, Ken Yetman, an avid golfer, who passed away in 2002.
The hockey tournament was played over Friday and Saturday. This year, four teams participated: Edmonton, Saskatoon, Kelowna/Lethbridge, and Burnaby. Through the round-robin play, the Edmonton team showed their skills and continued their exceptional play into the final game against Kelowna/Lethbridge. In the end, the Edmonton team collected the hardware, winning the 2007 tournament.
The wine tourists visited three of Kelowna's beautiful wineries, Cedar Creek, Summerhill, and Quail's Gate, for tours, tastings, and lunch.
Special thanks to Sam King in our Kelowna office and all those who helped organize the events. Thanks also to all participants for their energy and enthusiasm, and to the company for the support to help keep this popular tournament going.
We look forward to seeing all of you at the next the AE Kelowna Olympics in 2009! |
