AE Today supports responsible forest management

Some of you may have noticed a change in the look and feel of AE Today. In keeping with our commitment to the environment, we have changed the paper stock of our newsletter to Mohawk Options, a 100% post-consumer, Forest Stewardship Council certified paper.

AE Today was previously printed on “Save-a-Tree” paper stock, which was also a 100% postconsumer paper stock. Mohawk employs environmentally conscious manufacturing practices that combine the use of wind energy, 100% post-consumer waste fibre, and processes that are elemental chlorine free to produce a carbon neutral paper with a net zero climate impact. Our new paper stock supports our goal of reducing our environmental footprint and encourages and supports the growth of emission-free, renewable energy resources.

Our new paper stock is also Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified. The mission of the FSC is to support environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial, and economically viable management of the world’s forests. FSC has developed a comprehensive set of principles and criteria for conserving and protecting the world’s forest environments. Responsible forest management means forests are managed in a way that protects the water, soil, and wildlife. This FSC label provides us with the knowledge that we are directly supporting responsible forest management.
