As part of our training and technology transfer program, Associated Engineering regularly hosts in-house conferences. These conferences provide an opportunity for our staff to present their recent work, exchange ideas, and discuss issues related to their common area of interest.
On October 24 and 25, 2008, about 45 staff specializing in bridge engineering met in Vancouver to discuss advances in bridge technology. Presentations were made covering topics such as Risk Management, Structural Modeling, Bridge Inspections, Design/Build, Value Engineering, and P3 Project Delivery. Part of the conference included an organized tour of the Pitt River Bridge construction. The Pitt River Bridge is a major, cable-stayed bridge in the Vancouver area (see AE Today, issue 3 for article).
