Building Communities
Christmas Donations
Every year, in lieu of sending Christmas cards to clients and friends of Associated Engineering, we make donations to charities in our communities. This year, we made donations to the following organizations: Food Banks in Kelowna, Calgary, Edmonton, Regina, and Saskatoon; Kelowna’s Women’s Shelter; Edmonton’s Little Warriors; Vancouver’s Christmas Bureau and Covenant House; and The Children’s Wish Foundation.
Employee News
 Bosco Tong, M.Sc., MBA, P.Eng., P.T.O.E. has joined our Calgary office as Practice Lead, Transportation Planning. Bosco is a Senior Transportation Planner and Traffic Engineer with over 30 years of experience in the areas of highways, traffic, and transportation. Recently, he has been involved with design studies and implementation projects in the field of intelligent transportation systems, including planning advanced signal systems, advanced communication techniques in airport curb side parking and model analyses, advanced methods of data collection, HOV and HO/T lane analyses and transit modal integration studies.
 Jennifer Blomme, B.Env.D. has joined the Regina office as an Urban Planner. Jennifer holds a degree in Environmental Design from the University of Manitoba and has four years experience in community design and neighbourhood revitalization in Saskatchewan and Turkey. Jennifer is working with First Nations, private sector, and public sector clients, including a transportation study, subdivision developments, and commercial developments.
 Nik Cuperlovic, P.Eng. rejoins Associated Engineering’s Burnaby office as Senior Structural Engineer. Nic brings with him 18 years experience in the design and retrofit of bridges. Nik’s experience includes the North Arm Bridge for the Canada Line in Vancouver, the Johnson Mariner Overpass in Coquitlam, the Golden Ears Bridge in Langley, the Suncor Bridge in Fort McMurray, Alberta, the Stonecutters Bridge in Hong Kong, and the retrofit of the Port Mann and Patullo Bridges.
 Mingyu Li, M.A.Sc., P.Eng. has rejoined the Burnaby office as Senior Structural Engineer. Mingyu has over 16 years experience in project management and preliminary and detailed design of bridges in Ontario, BC, and the Yukon. Mingyu has been involved in the Canada Line Transit project performing seismic analysis and detailed seismic design and is currently leading the McCallum Road Bridge project in the City of Abbotsford, BC and the Mission Bridge project in Mission, BC.
 Dejan Erdevicki, Dipl.Ing., MIStructE, P.Eng., Struct.Eng. returns to Associated Engineering’s Burnaby office as Senior Structural Engineer. Dejan brings with him 20 years of experience in structural design, including residential and office buildings, shopping centres, industrial facilities, aircraft hangers, international airports, and special cable-supported glass structures. He has recently completed projects in BC, Austria, Romania, Trinidad, Bulgaria, and Montenegro.
