to millions of dollars for small communities and billions
of dollars for large urban centres. Effective management of
our existing infrastructure will help to optimize its remaining
life expectancy.

master plans, asset inventories, condition surveys, assessments,
and upgrade and rehabilitation plans. Asset management helps
communities to manage, maintain, and upgrade existing infrastructure,
potentially delaying costly replacement, and to plan and prioritize
