Asset Management Specialist [Full Time]
An employee-owned, Canadian company, Associated Engineering provides a broad base of consulting engineering services in the infrastructure, water, transportation, environmental, building, energy, and asset management sectors.
Position
We are currently searching for an Asset Management Specialist in our Edmonton office.
The successful candidates will conceptualize, develop, and implement asset and risk management strategies, capital plans, and targeted maintenance and rehabilitation initiatives for a variety of asset owners and operators. Duties will also include identifying emerging market and industry trends, and developing functional software tools for effective asset management decision making.
Requirements
Candidates should have the following qualifications:
- Post-graduate degree from an accredited post-secondary institution in civil, mechanical, chemical, or environmental engineering with a particular emphasis on asset management and/or reliability or risk mitigation-based engineering
- Post-graduate degree in business management including studies in asset-related accounting practice and finance
- Proven track record in applied risk-based asset management, reliability engineering, and business process design for asset decision-making
- Minimum 5 years of experience in asset management including strategy formulation, application of reliability theory using statistical methods, and cost benefit analysis in investment solutions assessment, preferably in a regulated environment
- Minimum 5 years of experience in asset management in a consulting and governmental or operating authority capacity

- Proven experience in project management, business development, and engineering related to asset management
- Working knowledge and experience in international standards for asset management practice including but not limited to AMQI, Infraguide, IPWEA, APWA, PAS55, and WEF published best management practice
- Strong written and spoken English and presentation skills
- Proven experience in the coordination of large and diverse multi-disciplinary teams including engineers, operations staff, mathematicians, statisticians, accountants, and economists, in the delivery of asset management strategic and financial plans
- Proven ability to apply asset management theory in the water, wastewater, environmental, infrastructure, and transportation disciplines for the delivery of effective asset management strategies.
