Composting

Today, we recognize the rich nutrient value and the beneficial reuse potential of wastewater biosolids and municipal solid waste. Composting provides an opportunity to develop a product that can be marketed as soil conditioner or fertilizer.

Associated Engineering has designed various composting systems for municipal solid waste and wastewater biosolids. Our experience includes aerobic windrow composting, aerated static pile composting, and forced-air composting systems, as well as the design of associated site services such as runoff control and treatment, and odour control systems for composting facilities.

Associated Engineering offers clients a full-service, specialist team experienced in facility assessments, planning, feasibility studies (including sludge characterization and compost marketability), siting studies, preliminary and detailed design, procurement, and construction management. Complementing our specialists, our staff includes structural, civil, process mechanical, building mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation and control engineers and technologists experienced at designing complete composting facilities. We also offer overall project management, contract administration, and construction inspection and management services.
