TCP/IP Ethernet is used for both process control highway and operator interface LAN. Genius LAN is used for analog signals. System serves four conventional process trains with individual chemical feed and flow rate control.

Remote plant control.
7 remote stations with multidrop telemetry system.
Full replacement of existing plant control system and conversion to part-time automatic operation. Plant has clarification, softening, filtration, pumping and chemical systems. The 984's control the water treatment plant and manage the regional pipeline system based on "time of use" power agreement. The 130's are located at remote fill stations along the regional pipeline. The system can be accessed and operated remotely and can be serviced over the telephone from Associated Engineering's offices.

Wonderware Intouch operator interface on Modbus Plus network.
Monitoring and control of the whole plant. 984-385 and Intouch allows operators to change batching recipe. Controls loading and unloading material from rail and truck. 984-145 controls filter press operation. System can be serviced over the phone from the office.

First microcomputer based implementation of MAP. 340 ML/d plant serves the City of London. Distributed control system in plant with automated sub-processes. Telemetry system to booster pump station and terminal reservoir on regional pipeline.

Voice synthesized radio alarm system. Can be serviced over the telephone from the office. Provides automatic filling sequence of two reservoirs by controlling the 4 operation wells. Monitors the 6 liftstations. Communication is via modems over leased AGT line and dial-up line.

Central control and monitoring of the water distribution system, monitoring of the sewage pumping stations. Control of water distribution system by adding demand from two reservoir pumphouses and controlling variable and constant speed pumps to meet demand. Central display and alarm monitoring is provided at the maintenance building. Communication with nine remote stations via modems over leased phone pairs.

Communication is via AGT and Sasktel leased lines.
Monitor and control the operation of river pumphouse high lift pumps (1750 HP) and Husky pumphouse. Status and analog variables are displayed on colour screens. Weekly reports are generated showing peak flow, total flow, max. pressure, etc.

Bristol 428 System originally designed by Associated Engineering in the 1970's and expanded several times since then. Last expansion added the 3330 RTU and a PLC to control pump sequencing.

Can be serviced over the telephone from the office. System was "hot installed" without shut down of the water treatment plant. Automatic control of 8 filters, chemical feed and pumping.

TI-545 controls fully automated water treatment plant and processes alarms and status from other remote stations. Alarms are issued through radio system to operator on call. Dial out system provides back-up.

GE series 3 PLC c/w analog and digital I/O modules and Genius blocks.Control and monitoring of three 150 HP pumps. Both pressure and flow are used to automatically start/stop pumps to match demand. Data link to the water treatment plant for station and alarm display and to the PLC system in the pulp mill. Pump station provides raw water to the City of Whitecourt water treatment plant and to the Millar Western pulp mill.

Honeywell Series 9000 controller running Intellution FIX software.Production of pure ethanol by mashing, fermenting, and distilling wheat. Process controls and status indication through operator workstation in central control room. Control system provides both ladder logic control for interlocking of conveyers and pumps as well as PID loop control. Control and monitoring through colour graphic displays on workstation. Alarms printed out for record keeping.

Bow Island
2 Modicon 884 PLC's at the pump station and at the reservoir inlet control building. Modicon 584 PLC at the syphon control. Voice synthesization by Digital Pathways Model SLC II.Design of irrigation pump station, including local and remote control and alarming of the pumps and related equipment. The pump station is provided with ten 1000 HP, two speed pumps supplying the canal system from the reservoir. Syphon flow control is by motorized undershot gates at the chute inlet.

Pump staging and control of a variable speed pump and 5 constant speed pumps. Pump staging is flow controlled. Variable speed maintains pressure setpoint which is automatically varied on flow to minimize power use. System can be serviced via telephone.

Allen-Bradley PLC-2/15.Control of 3 submersible pumps with manual selection of follow pump and floating standby. Controlled discharge of flow rate via discharge valve and flow meter to prevent surcharge conditions in the sanitary sewer system.
