Associated Engineering has provided consulting engineering
services to the developing countries of the world for more
than twenty-five years. During this time, the company has
undertaken assignments in more than 20 different countries
in Africa, Asia, Russia, the Middle East, Far East, and the
Caribbean.
The company's accumulated experience from these projects has
led to a thorough understanding of the critical importance
of applying appropriate technology to the needs of the developing
world. In addition, Associated Engineering has continued to
stress the significance of training local staff in operation
and maintenance procedures on all capital projects.
Associated Engineering is registered with the leading development
agencies and international financing organizations, including
the World Health Organization (WHO), Asian Development Bank
(ADB), African Development Bank (AfDB), and Canadian International
Development Agency (CIDA).
In association with various contractors, Associated Engineering
has successfully bid and completed several transportation
and environmental design/build projects. We also have experience
preparing design/build Terms of Reference for owners in both
the public and private sectors. Therefore, the Associated
Engineering team can bring to clients design/build experience
from both the owner and the contractor perspective.
Associated Engineering was the prime design engineers to Peter
Kiewit Sons for the Johnson-Mariner Way Connector in Coquitlam,
British Columbia. Working with Peter Kiewit, we completed
this $14 million project, which incorporates a 245 m long
four-lane bridge, in only 16 months following award of the
contract. Other design/build projects include a water reservoir
and a wastewater pump station in British Columbia and the
award-winning Suncor Athabasca River Bridge in Alberta. Working
with Peter Kiewit Management, we completed the Suncor bridge
in only 15 months, two years earlier than Suncor had envisaged.
