We are pleased to welcome 1st Team Consulting to the Associated Engineering group of companies. Our two firms have a well-established relationship, having worked together for many years on a variety of projects. The merger allows us to broaden our services and build on our shared values and similar culture. For more information, see this news release.
Associated Engineering has fulfilled our corporate commitment to become carbon neutral through the purchase of carbon offsets from Envirotrade, a Mauritius-based company that sells carbon offsets to support forest conservation. Associated Engineering’s investment supports reforestation and sustainable agricultural initiatives in rural communities of Mozambique. Through Envirotrade, we are helping communities and families by giving, reviving, and/or generating local agriculture and forestry industries, thus providing incomes and food supply for locals.
This investment in carbon offsets is in addition to our in-house initiatives to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions, including use of video conferencing to reduce travel, office waste reduction and recycling, office energy reduction, and local purchasing practices.
We are continuing to evaluate local carbon offset programs, so that we can use our carbon offset fund to invest in greenhouse gas reduction in the communities where we live and work.
