As Vice President, Transportation Structures, Don provides advice and guidance to clients on projects, and technical leadership and support to our transportation structures specialists on projects and business development activities.
Don is a Senior Bridge Engineer with more than 30 years of experience specializing in bridge and structural design, on projects across Canada and New Zealand. His experience includes the design and construction of new bridges, and bridge and structure retrofit and rehabilitation. Don is a recognized specialist in earthquake engineering and has authorized many papers and presentations on seismic retrofit and rehabilitation. He has performed Peer and Value Engineering reviews of seismic retrofits of major bridges and tunnels.
Don is the Director of the Canadian Association for Earthquake Engineering, Chair of the Seismic Sub-committee of the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code, and participates on the Earthquake Committee for Engineers & Geoscientists BC. In recognition of his expertise in bridge and seismic engineering, he has been invited to participate in the development of bridge and seismic codes and standards, including the Seismic Design and Retrofit Standards for bridges and structures for BC’s Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure and the Earthquake Design Guidelines for Engineers & Geoscientists BC.
