With over 35 years of experience in the resource and environmental sectors, Judy is a Professional Biologist focusing on environmental and social performance, and regulatory management.
Judy is experienced at leading and preparing environmental impact assessments including several for large oil sands’ mines, the Carmon Creek in-situ project, and the Scotford Upgrader. She has designed and implemented biophysical field inventories, conducted site/route selections and cumulative effects assessments, designed mitigation and management plans, and assessed consequences of residual effects. She has also testified at hearings under provincial and joint federal/provincial panels.
Judy has worked extensively with Aboriginal communities in northern Alberta, while negotiating and implementing Benefit Agreements for oil sands developments and participating on regional committees. She worked extensively on Regional Management Systems through the Cumulative Environmental Management Association and on monitoring programs through the Regional Aquatic Monitoring Program and Wood Buffalo Environmental Association.
