National Practice Leader, Building Services

Mark has a passion for design of sustainable structures and is the National Practice Leader, Building Services, Leader of Associated Engineering’s Climate Change Task Force and a Division Manager of Buildings and Facilities in our BC operation. He is a Senior Building Structural Engineer with over 20 years of experience on the design of a wide range of structures. Mark is also an Envision Specialist (Env SP) and familiar with the Envision Rating System for infrastructure projects.

Mark is recognized by his peers as a leader in structural engineering, management and sustainable design. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Structural Engineers and a designated structural engineer in the Province of British Columbia. His experience includes public buildings, facilities and the rehabilitation of landmark buildings on often constrained sites and continued occupancy.  Mark has worked on design-build projects for both the design builder and the owner, and is familiar with working within, and managing, multi-discipline teams.

Mark is involved with Engineers and Geoscientists BC as Chair of the Climate Change Advisory Group and as a member of the seismic technical review panel. He is also a member of the Wood First Advisory Group for Forestry Innovation Investment.
