Engineers and Geoscientists BC has designed an Accredited Employer Member-in-Training (MIT) program to streamline the processing and evaluation of applicants seeking professional membership. As an Accredited Member of the program, our BC operation works with Engineers and Geoscientists BC to offer a MIT Supervisorship environment. This ensures our Engineers-In-Training (EIT) can satisfy the Association’s experience requirements when applying for their Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation.
We currently have 27 MIT’s enrolled in the program, ranging in experience levels from recent graduates to EIT’s who are preparing to submit their P.Eng. applications.
The Accredited Employer MIT program is based on Engineers and Geoscientists BC’s Competency Experience Reporting System.
The MIT Program assists in outlining the Association’s requirements for EIT’s to gain their P.Eng. registration, establishes an internal Associated Engineering team support network and framework to assist the MIT's in gaining experience to achieve all of the required key competencies.

Our MIT’s receive enhanced guidance in gaining necessary competencies for registration from scheduled meetings with their Supervisors who understand the requirements EIT’s need to fulfill and become a successful applicant. We also have volunteer Mentors who recently gained their P. Eng. registration and understand the competency-based program guiding our MIT’s.
The MIT Program helps our MIT’s become strong candidates to qualify for registration as a Professional Engineer and provides an expedited application review process.
