Responsibilities include the following:

  • Providing leadership to our Whitehorse-based environmental sciences team
  • Providing senior-level advice and review throughout the project cycle
  • Supporting the team in the successful completion of projects and proposals
  • Mentoring, recruiting, and training staff, and helping them to reach their career goals
  • Identifying business opportunities and executing business development initiatives
  • Collaborating with other managers and team members on multi-disciplinary projects, including working closely with our engineering colleagues
  • Contributing to the strategic business planning of the company
  • Contributing your scientific and environmental planning skills to projects and proposals within your areas of expertise
  • Providing day-to-day team management

what you will bring to the table

You should have the following qualifications:

  • At minimum, a Bachelors' degree in an environmental science
  • At least 8 years of post-graduation experience, with preference for specialization in contaminated sites, hydrogeology, and water chemistry
  • At least 4 years of experience in environmental consulting, with exposure to project management
  • Experience in the Yukon market, including the ecological, economic, and social aspects
  • Professional registration (e.g., R.P. Bio., P.Geo., P.Ag., P.Eng., or RPP)
  • Business development experience in both private and public sectors
  • Proven business acumen and strong decision-making skills
  • Solid leadership, coaching, and organizational skills
  • Strong social and inter-personal communication skills, and the ability to encourage a strong team environment and build trust
  • Ability to think strategically
  • Ability to convert plans into action and effectively allocate resources
  • Determination to deliver on commitments
