We are currently searching for a Water and Wastewater Operations Specialist for our subsidiary company, ATAP Infrastructure Management, in which you will be working in the Edmonton office. ATAP provides diverse technical support, operations, troubleshooting expertise, and training by hands-on Operators to assist in operation/maintenance of water, wastewater, and municipal infrastructure. 

You will deliver services to various public and private sector clients throughout Alberta. The focus of this position is to support small to medium-sized communities and industrial clients that require assistance with operations, pilot testing, troubleshooting, plant optimization, system inspections, commissioning, and testing of their facilities.

This position will involve frequent client interactions and, as such, you will have strong communication skills. Furthermore, this position will entail providing instruction to new Water and Wastewater operators, both online and in a classroom setting. Through a broad range of assignments, you will be exposed to leading edge technologies, treatment processes, control systems, and all forms of water source challenges. By working with leading experts in the Water and Wastewater industry, this position provides an excellent opportunity to expand both operational and technical knowledge. You will be provided with autonomy in this position, as you will be required to complete tasks with minimal supervision.

what you will bring to the table

You should have the following qualifications:

  • Minimum of Alberta Environment Certification Level II WT/WWT/WO/WWC is recommended  
  • Technical Diploma in Civil Engineering, or a Water & Wastewater Technician Certificate from an accredited technical college is an asset
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in Water/Wastewater operations
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proven client relations experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
  • Experience in project management is an asset
  • Experience in rural gas systems is an asset
  • A valid driver’s license is required for site meetings
  • Extensive travel is a necessity of this position
