Reporting to the Group Manager, you will work with engineers and technologists to provide design, modelling, and construction inspection services for a variety of public and private sector clients with a focus on the buildings and vertical infrastructure sectors. You will have experience in multiple market areas which could include the following: education and research, government and emergency services, sports and recreation, healthcare, commercial, industrial and office space, municipal water and wastewater, and arts and culture. The ideal individual desires to make an impact on their workplace and be a leader in the Buildings Mechanical practice. You will have the opportunity to engage in a collaborative work environment with your team, as well as other disciplines and offices. You must be motivated and client-focused, quality production-oriented, and thrive in a high-energy, fast-paced team environment.

what you will bring to the table

You should have the following qualifications:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Environmental Systems Technology, or equivalent from an accredited post-secondary educational institution
  • Significant experience with REVIT and knowledge of MEP software
  • 2 to 4 years of progressive experience in computer-aided design of Building Mechanical Services consisting of HVAC and plumbing systems
  • Design experience on commercial and/or industrial projects
  • Knowledge of BC and National Building Codes, National Plumbing Code, ASHRAE Standards, and NFPA is an asset
  • Knowledge of electrical and structural systems
  • Experience with spreadsheets and related computer programs
  • Proficient in using HAP or similar building simulation software
  • Field and construction inspection is an asset
  • Project cost estimating, and scheduling experience is an asset
  • LEED accreditation is an asset
  • Experience in 3D design platforms is an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Committed team player
  • Strong attention to detail
