We are currently searching for a Mechanical Engineer in our Edmonton office. We are looking for an experienced engineer who has engaged clients directly in providing innovative design solutions in the buildings sector. This individual strives to lead with an entrepreneurial approach that is forward thinking and promotes a team environment to improve overall group performance and client service. Key understanding of design scope and multiple levels of client deliverables are required in order to deliver the necessary quality and achieve profitability levels for the organization.

Your responsibilities will include providing a leadership role in the preparation of designs, cost estimates, specifications, and contract documents as well as participating in scheduling, budgeting, tendering, contract administration, and inspection. You will engage in a collaborative work environment with your team, as well as other disciplines and offices. This opportunity will involve growing and mentoring staff, continuous improvement of design standardization, working with senior staff to grow the Mechanical Building practice, and broaden our client base. You desire to make an impact on the workplace and be recognized by the design industry as a contributor to the built environment both sustainably and through design excellence.

what you will bring to the table

You should have the following qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution
  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with APEGA
  • 10 to 15 years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering within the consulting engineering environment
  • Proficiency in mechanical analysis software and Revit
  • Demonstrated client interfacing and leadership skills
  • Project Management experience
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Committed team player, and experience in design team management
  • Proven success in developing winning proposals is an asset
