Teck Resources Limited is planning a new mine near it's Coal Mountain facilities, referred to as CMO 2. Associated Environmental is leading key elements of the vegetation, soil, and biodiversity assessments required for Mines Act permits.
The Calgary International Airport parallel runway, the longest runway in Canada, increases aircraft landing capacity and accommodates larger aircraft. The Category III(a) Instrument Landing System (ILS) ensures safe and efficient aircraft movements during poor weather and low visibility conditions. The runway features energy-efficient LED lighting, the first use on a runway in North America.
Associated Environmental provided technical advisory services as part of a $240,000 land acquisition and development plan for Cenovus Energy. Because the lands encompass various wetlands, the potential development triggers regulatory requirements through Alberta Environment and Sustainable Resource Development.
Teck Resources Limited is expanding its coal mines at Fording River and Greenhills, and is planning a new mine near it's Coal Mountain facilities. Associated Environmental is leading key elements of the vegetation, soil, and biodiversity assessments required for Mines Act permits at the three mines. Baseline assessments require a mix of Geographic Information System (GIS)-based data compilation and analysis, field calibration, and quantitative modelling, which form the basis for subsequent impact assessment and mine reclamation planning.
Assessment of potential environmental effects is part of the planning process for a range of infrastructure, natural resource development, and land-use projects. Our multi-disciplinary team will work with you to support a project through its lifecycle, to manage risks of development, and lead the process to meet requirements of federal and provincial regulations.
Our services include baseline characterization, stakeholder engagement, modeling effects, mitigation planning, and development of environmental management and monitoring plans. We also act as third-party experts, providing scientific advisory services to government and stakeholders as part of review processes.
