Associated Environmental conducted a water quality and environmental impact assessment of the Snye channel as part of a river front improvement project to improve esthetics and recreational opportunities for residents while preserving aquatic habitat.
Pulp residual has been applied as a soil amendment to agricultural lands in the Peace River area since 1998. Associated Environmental works with the pulp mill to ensure that residual is applied to agricultural fields such that farmers can maximize their yields, and this allows the client to re-use the pulp residual in a sustainable way.
Associated Environmental assisted with environmental management and regulatory work for the former Mount Nansen Mine, located 60 km west of Carmacks, YT. Specifically, AE contributed to the design of a remediation plan being prepared for assessment by the Yukon Environmental and Socio-Economic Assessment Board, and assisted with required permitting for remediation.
Associated Environmental was retained by CEMA's Terrestrial Subgroup (TSG) to assist with revisions to their Revegetation Manual (2nd Edition). As part of the process, AE engaged oil-sands mine reclamation planners, practitioners, contractors and other stakeholders for their input to the planned revisions. The purpose of the project is to re-focus revegetation techniques to establish upland forest ecosystems with multiple end uses such as traditional use, recreation, or commercial forest.
