Providing vegetation expertise to BC Hydro utilizing a detailed understanding of a broad range of ecosystems, restoration and reclamation techniques, vegetation species, vegetation communities, soil, and ecosystem and species responses to reservoir operation for hydropower generation.
Pulp residual has been applied as a soil amendment to agricultural lands in the Peace River area since 1998. Associated Environmental works with the pulp mill to ensure that residual is applied to agricultural fields such that farmers can maximize their yields, and this allows the client to re-use the pulp residual in a sustainable way.
Associated Environmental conducted a water quality and environmental impact assessment of the Snye channel as part of a river front improvement project to improve esthetics and recreational opportunities for residents while preserving aquatic habitat.
Total E&P Canada Ltd.'s Joslyn North Mine project required re-alignment of the existing access road. Associated Environmental provided regulatory advice and technical guidance to the construction and design team including regulatory approval applications and technical guidance for construction crews, a Wildlife Mitigation Plan, and recommendations for environmental mitigation measures.
Associated Environmental completed Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) at two sites adjacent to Main Street and Highway 97A in Sicamous, B.C. The assessments were in accordance with CSA Standards CSA Z768-01(R12) and CSA Z769-00(R13), and adhered to protocols as per the B.C. Contaminated Sites Regulation of the Environmental Management Act.
