Associated provided erection engineering services for various sections of the Canada Line Rapid Transit Project in Metro Vancouver, including the 400 m long Middle Arm Crossing, which connects Canada Line to the Vancouver International Airport.
Detailed design of a new 240 metre elevated guideway for rapid transit - twin structures comprising curved, superelevated, steel box girders. We also completed inspection and independent checking of this and other special structures scattered along the Evergreen line.
NT Energy's liquefied natural gas plant provides fuel for electrical energy generation in Inuvik. The facility includes two 68,000 litre vertical LNG tanks. LNG vapourization is achieved through a ballasted heat exchanger. Waste heat from the generators is used to heat hot water that feeds the heat exchanger. Associated provided civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical design.
Running underneath the Calgary International Airport runway, the City of Calgary Airport Trail Tunnel improves access to northeast communities and connectivity to lands being developed east of the airport. Built to accommodate light rail transit, the tunnel paves the way for the City of Calgary’s plans for additional modes of transport to the airport in the future.
Associated provides a broad spectrum of structural design including bridges, buildings, transportation structures, retaining structures, and culverts. Our team brings specialist capabilities in seismic assessment and rehabilitation, blast resistant design, and heritage and restoration. We are passionate about sustainable design. On every project, we work with owners to find ways to reduce the environmental footprint, integrate the structure with the community, and implement structures that are highly functional, efficient and economical.
