The Saline Creek Drive Pedestrian Bridge is a signature structure, developed considering user experience, and functional requirements and design principles established by the Municipality’s Placemaking Initiative.
The 60 metre long single-span bridge comprises a single tilted 1.2 metre diameter steel arch supporting an opposing, balanced, horizontally curved post-tensioned concrete box girder. The deck is supported by means of a network of hanger rods. The hanger rod network loads the arch through its centroid via steel gussets, and supports the concrete box by connection to radially oriented precast pick-up beams.
