As part of the regulatory approval process with the Department of Fisheries and Oceans, CFD analysis has been used to demonstrate that the in-river drum screens provide adequate fish protection for the City’s new 540 ML/d raw water intake. The model includes part of the South Saskatchewan River and the intake structure so that their effects on flow at the screens surfaces can be predicted.
For nearly 30 years, Associated Engineering has provided engineering services to the Corporation of Hamilton in Bermuda and the Goverment of Bermuda on a wide variety of projects. One notable project has been the planning, designing, and constructing of the new Front Street Wastewater Treatment Plant in 2002.
Associated Engineering worked with TransLink as Technical Consultants during the concept development, P3 procurement phase, and implementation. We developed conceptual designs of the bridge, connecting road and highway network. Winner of a 2006 Consulting Engineers of British Columbia’s Award of Excellence.
Mill Creek (aka Pembroke Canal) is a watercourse that drains much of the central valley of Bermuda towards the Great Sound. Associated Engineering completed a Flood Mitigation Study to identify the most beneficial hydraulic improvements to the creek and outlet to the sea.
The 4th Street Pedestrian Overpass is a critical pedestrian link between the City of New Westminter's popular waterfront park promenade and Columbia Street, the heart of their urban centre. The overpass allows pedestrian access to the eastern end of the linear park, providing a fully accessible crossing to the park.
