Melanie has worked throughout Western Canada as a terrestrial ecologist for the past 16 years. Her experience includes project management, vegetation and wildlife inventories, ecological land classification, rangeland management, sustainable agriculture, environmental impact assessments, reclamation planning and monitoring, and waste management. Melanie is a Terrestrial Ecologist as well as Restoration and Reclamation Lead at Associated.
Recently, Melanie has managed, and contributed to, complex environmental projects. She has over 9 years of experience managing large, multi-disciplinary projects. She has provided technical expertise to vegetation survey design, inventory methods, and data analysis. Melanie has developed environmental management and mitigation plans for biophysical projects in the transportation, transmission, land development, agricultural, and oil and gas sectors. She has a keen understanding of ecological function in relation to landscape resources use and of techniques for restoring affected ecological function.
