Associated Engineering provided general arrangement, structural, mechanical, and electrical services to the Town of Swan River in establishing an expansion strategy for their joint use facility. A skating arena was combined with a swimming pool.

A detailed building condition assessment and detailed planning study was completed to establish a strategy for maximizing community use and for integrating adjacent curling club and agricultural society facilities. A long-term plan was established and design of the first phase was initialed.

This includes a new administration addition, expansion of the existing building, new slab for the skating rink, additional bleachers in the arena and new dasher board system. A detailed investigation of energy reduction opportunities was also completed.

Mechanical systems involved relocation of existing ice skating rink area heating, electric and gas heating in the new additions. Special mechanical systems include refrigeration piping and relocation of existing refrigeration system. Electrical systems included replacement and addition of electrical components such as splitters, breakers, panel boards, new light, and power devices, and fire alarm devices to accommodate new addition to the existing arena.
