Regulatory Authorizations

Are you navigating the challenges of environmental permits and authorizations? Associated helps our clients complete their projects in a timely, cost-effective, and environmentally responsible manner. Our combination of strong regulatory knowledge, practical experience, and relationships with government staff enables us to provide sound advice and minimize delays.

Associated’s regulatory expertise includes federal (e.g. Fisheries Act, Species at Risk Act, Canadian Environmental Assessment Act), provincial (e.g. water, waste discharge, and contaminated sites regulations), and local (e.g. riparian set-back) statutes. We also assist clients to develop regulatory compliance programs for specific construction projects, or as part of a comprehensive Environmental Management System.

For specific information regarding the groundwater regulatory requirements in British Columbia, visit our page for the BC Water Sustainability Act.

    • As an aquatic toxicologist, I help clients understand the implications of water and wastewater quality and potential impacts to aquatic organisms. I develop creative solutions to maintain regulatory compliance for project owners.

    • I enjoy all fibre arts, including knitting and crocheting. As a volunteer, I knit breastforms for women who have had mastectomies or developmental issues. I love to visit family and the mountains in Nelson, BC, where I grew up.
