The Town of Asquith retained Associated Engineering to assist in decommissioning of their existing landfill site.
Our project team reviewed the requirements for decommissioning of landfills set out by the Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment and created a decommissioning and closure report.
The existing landfill was located northwest of the town, one mile west of the Asquith Grid. The existing site was given approval to operate in 1987 and accepted household waste and non-hazardous commercial and institutional sources from Asquith and other nearby users in the Regional Municipality of Corman Park.
Asquith decommissioned the existing landfill site and constructed a solid waste transfer station to collect store waste materials.
