The City of Lethbridge manages a large inventory of playground equipment and associated facilities, much of which was deteriorating due to age and poor condition.
The City initiated a replacement program to update the playground equipment with new CSA approved equipment. In 2008, the five highest priority playground sites were identified and plans were made to upgrade these facilities. Associated Engineering was awarded the project to provide project management and to oversee the landscape design services to upgrade the facilities.
The five playgrounds that were part of this original project included:
- Labour Club playground
- Norbridge Lyons Club playground
- Henderson East playground
- Henderson Pool playground
- Laval playground
