The Town of Redwater commissioned Associated Engineering to provide engineering and construction inspection services for the reconstruction of the 49th Avenue, the main commercial street and gateway into the Town.
As the Prime Consultant, Associated Engineering provided design, tendering, contract administration, and resident engineering services. The design stage involved the development of the program, engaging subconsultants for streetscape and geotechnical investigation, and preparation of tender documents. On behalf of the Town, we provided bid assessments and a recommendation for award. During construction, Associated Engineering provided full time inspection and contract administration. Project management services were provided for all facets of the project.
Project Highlights
The project included:
- Rehabilitation and upgrading the existing roadway to an urban cross section with traffic calming devices
- Resurfacing of an adjacent parking lot to improve surface drainage
- Installation of catchbasins and culverts and regrading of the existing storm ditch to accommodate design flows
- Design and construction of streetscape including raised planters, tree and shrub plantings, benches, kiosks, stamped and coloured concrete.
