Multi-Rec Centre Field House and Arena Parking Lot

The project included paving of the existing parking lot, re-grading, implementing storm water management, and introducing landscaping. Our Urban Planning & Design team was responsible for creating a planting plan that alleviated some of the Municipality’s concerns including poor views and the delineation of parking stalls during the winter months.

The existing parking lot consisted of a gravel area with poor drainage and minimal vegetation. A motel to the east of the parking lot created poor views. To remedy these concerns, the project team provided sufficient planting to screen the motel and proposed large planters to aid in the recognition of parking stalls during winter months. Additional planting was added throughout the parking lot area to create more green space and break up the large area of asphalt.
