Associated Engineering provided engineering services to complete the preliminary design, detailed design, and contract administration for the construction of a new culvert crossing in Buffalo Creek near Altona, Manitoba.
The new crossing includes nine, 3600 millimetre diameter corrugated steel pipe culverts with cast-in-place concrete head walls. The recommended concept was chosen as the optimal balance between capital cost and service life, while minimizing impacts on the road user and maintenance costs to the municipality.

- Preliminary design of the culvert replacement, including survey, hydraulics, geotechnical and utilities investigations and assessments
- Development and evaluation of various replacement alternatives, including the use of corrugated steel pipe, precast concrete pipe, and cast-in-place concrete box culverts
- Detailed design of chosen alternative, preparation of contract documents, assistance during tender, and contract administration during construction
