The Coast Meridian Overpass is a new four-lane, five-span, cable-stayed bridge, in Port Coquitlam, BC, which crosses a major Canadian Pacific railyard.
The bridge is 25 metres wide and 580 metres long. The construction project was launched in 2008 to link Coast Meridian Road and Lougheed Highway on the north and Kingsway Avenue and Broadway Street on the south.
Associated Engineering completed the superstructures steel shop drawings for the sub-contractor, Dynamic Structures, the steel fabricator for the project. The shop drawings include steel box girders, pylons, cable diaphragms and pier diaphragms. There were 1,250 shop drawings in total and over 4,600 tonnes of steel.
