The goals of this project were to improve corridor safety for all users, develop permanent solutions to on-street parking demands, maintain access to destinations, and address the need for AAA active transportation along the corridor.
For Bedwell Bay Road, we worked with stakeholders to understand key priorities and assess existing safety concerns. The project team developed creative concepts to improve the safety, circulation, and access for people driving, walking, cycling, and transiting around the popular visitor destination, including a seasonal park and ride shuttle to encourage mode shift.

Client
City of Port Moody

Project Highlights
Ioco Road has significant geometric constraints and much higher traffic volumes, as it is a critical connection between Port Moody and Bedwell Bay Road. Associated Engineering collaborated with the City of Port Moody to identify opportunities for AAA cycling connections along the corridor, while balancing the need for access. We helped to identify feasible options and design strategies and supported the City’s public engagement for the project.
