St. Johns Street Redesign – Active Transportation and Pedestrian Accessibility Improvements
Location
Port Moody, British Columbia
Expertise

St. Johns Street from Ioco Road to Albert Street serves as the main traffic corridor through Port Moody and was originally characterized by narrow sidewalks and a lack of cycling infrastructure.
The City of Port Moody envisioned transforming this corridor into a vibrant and connected space accessible to all. Associated Engineering helped to bring that vision into reality by planning and designing active transportation facilities for people of all ages and abilities along this constrained corridor—while also ensuring continued access to local properties and businesses and preserving the community’s valued trees and landscaping.
Our planning study services encompassed multi-modal transportation planning, traffic analysis, safety reviews, a HOV lane utilization study, stakeholder and public engagement, and concept development.
