For the City of Surrey in BC, we prepared designs based on multiple energy load scenarios for a district energy system.
The system features a Vertical, Closed Loop, Geoexchange Heat Exchanger for their new Surrey Civic Centre Plaza. The system supplies 90% of the plaza’s annual heating, cooling, and domestic hot water energy, and is the largest system of its kind in Canada.
The project team was instrumental in evaluating the complex geology at the site and developing strategies for a cost-effective system installation into a busy and space-constrained site and amid a challenging construction schedule.
