Market Crossing Commercial Development

Associated Engineering was responsible for the design of on-site and off-site infrastructure for the development of the 12 ha commercial development site.  The off-site design included 330 m of roadworks, 460 m of sanitary sewer and force mains, 460 m of water mains and 460 m of storm sewer.  The on-site storm sewer design included the use of pervious aquapavers for all parking areas (3 ha), providing 5,000 m³ of on-site detention within the underground detention pond created by the use of a railway ballast layer ranging between 300 mm and 700 mm in depth.  The design required liaison with the developer, architect, landscape architect, geotechnical sub-consultant, mechanical sub-consultant and the City of Burnaby, Engineering and Environmental Departments.
