The Glenmore Water Treatment Plants underwent a major capital upgrade program that was the culmination of years of joint research and study by the City of Calgary and Associated Engineering, a relationship that has existed for over 30 years.
This upgrade significantly enabled the continued operation of the facilities and protection of the City’s drinking water supply, a critical life-saving resource for residents during a natural disaster.

Project Highlights
The design and delivery of the upgrades increases the capacity of the plant to address increased water demand caused by an expanding City and regional population. The improvements also help meet more stringent regulatory standards by improving water treatment performance, improving public safety by eliminating the use of potentially hazardous chlorine gas, and protecting the aquatic environment by eliminating process waste discharges to the Elbow River.
